I am a native of South Carolina. My hometown is right across the lake from my alma mater, Clemson University, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education.
While at Clemson, I had way too much fun (GO TIGERS!!) and met a lot of great people, one of which I am currently teaching with. After I graduated, I substitute taught for a year and half because the job market in SC was so bad. In August 2011, I got a job in NC and left the Palmetto State. My first year, I was a reading interventionist. I was grateful for the opportunity to learn so much in the area where I was lacking - guided reading. Even though I am grateful for the opportunity, I was ecstatic to be teaching 5th grade starting the 2012-2013 school year. I miss home every single day, but I love my school and the teachers and students I work with. For now, I don't see myself going anywhere.
In my free time (haha, aka summer), I LOVE to read, visit with friends, and go home as much as possible. I am a HUGE Clemson Tiger fan and try to go home for as many football games as I can. I also love traveling (when I can afford it). Last summer, I went to Ireland for two weeks! I've been trying to save money ever since so I can go back!
I really hope you enjoy reading my random thoughts! :)

Thank for reading my blog! I would love to read your comments! :) I apologize for the word verification images that are so hard to read. You wouldn't believe the amount of SPAM I receive daily without the word verification.
