I'm back from the mountains trip with friends. We had a great time, and I must admit it was great being "unplugged" from the real world. At the cabin, we had no cell service or internet. Wow! The only downer to our trip was that it rained... and rained... and rained... We went up to Tweetsie Railroad to watch fireworks on the 4th, but we ended up leaving because of the rain and storms. {Notice the picture of friends holding the tarp above our heads.} We had a couple hours of good weather when we went up to Blowing Rock, NC the other day. {Gorgeous mountain view...} The weather finally cleared up when we left yesterday. Figures, right? :) We had breakfast at The Daniel Boone Inn in Boone, NC. It was spectacular! I ate so much I didn't need to eat again until dinner! Anywho, it's great to be back and sleeping in my own bed for a few days before I head out again!

I was up that way this weekend! We went wine tasting in Swan Valley (off I-40) and then spent last night up in Blowing Rock. Today we drove the Blue Ridge Parkway! I love having the mountains so close! Too bad about the rain making you leave early, but getting away is always nice!
